Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

that swallowtail (with the 2E) was originally owned and built by Valver I believe. Then owned by another forum member in QLD before being shipped down south. That thing has gone downhill fast, look at all that rust! Used to be a clean shell

That mk2 looks great! K-Jet motor too, would go pretty hard!

2L 8V's can be a wee bit dopey on digi though.

I just want that half cage hehe, looks cool. But all seriousness, would it be worth buying just for the 2E and running gear?

I think that Cam used to own the White Mk1 with the half cage. It definitely looks like it's worth saving, someone give it a new home

If it had 4 doors it would be faster

Well worth it for engine ect,
Get it running in the white car first, then swap the gear into your orange one, swap orange gear into white, sell. easy.

Aint no GTI engine in it, GTI engine code will be EG------. You can see the mechanical fuel pump + no oil cooler housing on the front of the block..
                      Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                      Cheers,
                      Grant...

DX will be a 1.8 , All GTI's were 1.6 up til end of 82 model year IIRC engine code EG, 1600 CC 81 kW. So is yours factory genuine or a clone
