Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

probably something to do with cylinder 2? if its not combusting properly and its localised to 1 cylinder, its quite possibly just an injector? head gasket maybe? wouldnt be a terribly hard/expensive fix id imagine (famouse last words!)

If it's localized only to that cylinder then im 99% sure it's the piston ring (cheap as chips).
And even if it is a fuked piston there not that expensive if u know where to buy !!
Besides the end of the year is around the corner, stuff's about to get real cheap !!
If it's the head gasket then this is a very cheap buy, but then again if that was the case he wouldnt be selling it !!
If non of those then it'll be around the valves. Wether its bent Valves or stem seals etc they are all cheap things. Gettin someone to rebuild a head might be expensive though, if u don't know how to replace valves etc
If it's non of those then it'll be electrical probably to do with the computer or wiring harness and that's were things get complicated an expensive.

I'm pretty sure someone here could get it for $6k or $6.5k, damn cheap for what it is !!!

The only thing that might be abit pricey is to get someone to replace the part for u, if u don't know how to do a rebuild !!
