Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I think it's a members car, the Sigma rotors with Commodore calipers sounds familar.

don't know if it's a members car, but the commodor calipers sigma rotor thing has been done on here before. If you searched i'm sure on here i'm sure something would come up.

Looks in pretty decent condition. plenty of booty on there, and if the engine is actually making 131HP, i'd say it's defiantly worth the rebuild!

doesn't make any sense to me

Thats like saying, my car dyno'd 210hp, but has kicked a leg out of bed & requires a complete engine!

Have dyno sheets to prove what it "did" make "when" it "was" going!

Regardless the Desmond Regamaster rip-off wheels look pretty awesome on it.

I guess you can only fit a certain amount of "hores" into a mk1, no matter how 'off tits' it may be.

Must have been one very shagged 16v then! either that or was one very f%$ked up engine combination

                    A stock KR makes 139hp!!!!!!

Even my old banger 1.8L with a couple of mods made approx. 135hp & it was as mild as the taste of a premixed jack can!

It was a 1.8L, but the ECU was giving head aches and the engine was seeing better days... so yeah...it was pretty shagged.

But you said it was off its head!

If it was that modified & crazy it could do that even on 3 cyls!

It had around 125-130hp, for me it went really well, but that's just me...I haven't been in any other quick mk1's yet.
