no worries Matt. BTW you can still get Mk 1 Inlet Manifold Gaskets new...I got one last week from Imparts, Abbotsford, but when I was there today, he couldn't find exhaust gaskets...hoping a set might come with the extractors, which are listed on the spec. sheet for the ones I just ordered.

ur efforts are most appreciated...unfortunately the extractors won't come till next week and having only just finally got both manifolds off my old donk tonight, it looks easier to wait until all is received..

how the devil do you remove carby(esp. a UK '85 model), inlet and exhaust on a Mk 1 when the engine in ???

manifolds are off....but I think I'll wait for the extractors before I install the 'preeny' donk next weekend....whatever happened to VW technology of the Beetle era.....17 mins to drop the motor (start to finish !!!)
