haha I know what you mean but there are some serious heads over there, plus a couple more million people!

After completing what would be deemed a minor/moderate conversion by vortex standards I can see where the value is. There is no way they spent less than 15k on this car... plus the hundreds of hours.

Mad props for a dream car.

Awesome car, definitely surprise some at the traffic light gp

Not being a mechanically minded person, would a mechanic know how to fix it with all the custom parts and mods??

or would you need to keep in touch with the seller if things went pear shaped?

the last thing you would want, is to spend $15K on the car and no one knows how to fix it except for the previous owner

engine is the same as whats in polo gti's mk 4 gti's and various audi and passats.

most people would know how to service things etc. i'm sure the seller would inform you of any tricky bits to watch out for.

Mk5 Polo gti? Arnt they TFSI 1.8L?

Anyway, how does the mk1 shell cope with 240bhp and no cage or bars?

not the current GTI polos; i donno what 'mk' they are. remember they're based on the mk 4 platform.

as for stresses and stuff. I' think he added a few stress and sway bars., but even then. it's still a 30 chassis. buy it and tell us how it goes! hahhaa

Ah ok, i just looked it up real quick they have 5v per cyl but being a polo im not all that interested haha I thoight it was a TFSI like in the mk5 gti but a 1.8L version.

As for buying it and seeing how it goes, ive got 1 point left and it wouldnt last to long with me even if it did have a cage.

lol. air-conditioning and power steering? hahaha

it is a nice car, but somehow i feel like it's a waste of an original mk1 gti. all these awesome parts could go into some bucket aussie 2dr and it would be exactly the same, (absolutely awesome), except a mk1 gti is such a pure unadulterated thing. he should sell 2 mk1s. a 20v turbo screamer and an original gti.

ummm i dont think it matters to much what you tell them and i think its a 20vt in that youtube clip.

Mk1 is about 100kw per tonne (based on the 1.6L 110hp 830kg kerb)
Mk4 2L sport (or UK early GTI) is 69kw per tonne (bassed on 85kw and 1230kg kurb from carsales)
Mk4 20vt is about 88kw per tonne (bassed on 110kw and 1250kg kurb from carsales)

                              MK1 FTW!!!
