VIC 2L 8V counterflow cylinder head

Hi guys, im after a counter flow cylinder head to suit my 94 mk3 2E block. anything out there?

2E doesn't have the crank angle sensor in the block . AGG and ADY do so it wouldn't work . Also he is after a cross flow head ? Which we didn't get in Aus until the mk4 Golf

Ahhhhh Seb he said counter flow. (So inlet and exhaust on the same side)

And we actually got cross flow motors earlier than the Mk4.
There is few 8v 1.6ltr cross flow Seat Cordoba's sold here.
Great little motor for a Mk1/2.

not sure what youre smoking but he did say counter flow. The AGG does have a counter flow head on it that would be compatible with the 2E.
AGG has a lower compression ratio than the 2E but I believe that is due to a different piston design.
I also have a couple of crossflow heads and a complete 2E. Pllanning on pulling the 2E head off and using the crossflow head on it in my rocco

Counter flow heads for me are heads that share the same inlet and exhaust path . There wasn't too many of these engines built most were experimental . One such engine was a reverse boxer , so the pistons faced inwards and ran off two outer crankshafts . Both the inlet and exhaust flow came from the same ports . I generally call heads cross flow or non-cross flow . Reverse flow is another name : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revers..._cylinder_head

"counter flow" means to flow in opposite directions. So the intake charge and the exhaust gases do exactly that on a standard MK3 2E engine. Ive always known them to be called counter or cross.

Its definitely a potato.

The G60 8V Head is a counterflow head.
The 9A 16V Scirocco head is a crossflow head.

If you are interested in a G60 head let me know they are fairly common here in the USA.
If you are interested in an ABA 8V crossflow these are uber common here.

yep! counter flow has inlet and outlet on same side. cross flow doesnt! the reason im asking is i would like to play a bit around with porting and polishing again. havent done it on a 8v counter flow and im interested what can be done. a flow bench is easy to set up. im a bit bored so why not
