Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just got some VW Classix from a member, but need tyres to fit.

with respect, if you do actually care, why not go to the tyre shop and buy some new tyres?

You can usually get a set of 4 reasonable new tyres in that size for under $600

They are a premium Chinese tyre.
sure they are no conti or bridgestone, normally retail at 130ish per tyre if that gives you something to compare them to.
I have them on my car now in 215/45/17, bit of road noise, but far more grippy then the goodyears I have at the other end.

if you have the money go something nicer like gldgti suggested, but for the price im happy with these.

heres a picture for tread pattern reference

No, that's a fair point. Really its just because I'm a bit stretched for cash atm, and just found that one of my tires has a nail pierced perfectly through it. Friend told me to just post in forums, to see if anyone had something decent lying around, that was better for my financial state. Of course, in the end, I might actually just end up going to a store ( Seeing as theres a few decent buy 3 get 1 free deals atm)

I've got some on ebay at the moment. 2x Bridgestone, 2x Michellin. Just past a roadworthy, so definitely roadworthy tread.
One tyre was giving a bit of road noise, but still heaps of tread, if you can put up with the sound.
They also come with Audi rims, which you could use or resell

Have the lot on ebay for 400 bux, but could do 350 for a vww member
Current - 07 MKV Golf GTi, 6-Spd-M, White.

                Previous - 04 WRX, 99 WRX, 98 WRX.

Funnily enough, ebay is blocked at my work. Just search it on ebay.. " audi wheels 225 45 17 " or something.
