Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i know the budget is probably a bit low for this forum but i thought i'd try it anyway. may be you have a friend of a friend selling something etc...

i have a mate who is going through a separation, i'll spare the sob story but basically old mate decided he'd take the car and unfortunately she's not left with much cash to buy another one...

no major rush as she's relying on lifts from work mates at the minute but if anyone know's of something it would be appreciated...

must be in good condition and not require any work in the near future or she'll end up broke...

    thanks in advance...

You'll get something decent and Asian for $5k fairly easily. Plenty of Corollas, Suzuki Swifts, etc.

      2012 Nissan Micra K13 ST

      2011 Hyundai i20 Active MY11

You'll even get new for <$10k - it's just not the type of car an enthusiast would consider.

2014 Mitsubishi Mirage LA ES MY14

Yeah, you wouldn't drive around Australia with one but as a reasonably reliable urban runabout they do the job - with warranty!
