Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC WTB Eibach Pro Springs F+R MkIV Golf GTi

    Hi Guys,
After a set of Eibach pro series springs to suit Mk4 GTi. Had some on order but just been told out of stock. (8-9 wks)
    Would consider sportline as well.

PM me if you have anything.

With the pro-kit it's only like a 15mm drop, when I installed them on mine it actually raised the car as the stock springs had sagged quite a bit. Have you checked out the h&r race springs? They are a 40/50mm drop iirc, I had them on my car before I went coilovers and they looked a lot more aggressive than the eibachs with no noticeable drop in ride quality.

I was a bit wary of the ride quality on the h&r's, had been warned off by someone in the trade. Don't want to go too low 30-40 would be ideal to avoid fsb issues.
Thanks for info tho' worth considering
