Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC WTB: Stock MK6 GTI Exhaust

    Hi Guys,

Looking at upgrading the exhaust in my stock MK6 1.4TSI.
Of course open to other ideas/suggestions if you have them.

Happy to pickup anywhere in Victoria. Well, almost anywhere, I'm located in the S.E. Suburbs, so I'd say 150KM radius from there.

If you can recommend a shop who would be willing to do the swap over that be great, I rang a few places and they weren't exactly sure if they would take the job.

i have something that might be suitable from my s3 (picked it up from the shop after my exhaust was fitted and suspect that some how i ended up with a gti exhaust...) i'll get the part numbers when i'm back in 2 weeks if thats not too late?

other sticking point is shipping from brissy might not make it worth while. pm me and i'll message my mobile number if it makes it easier...

Hi Mate, thanks for the reply. I dont mind waiting 2 weeks in fact I've been hunting for one for a few months now. Shipping from Brissy wont be cheap. Happy to be corrected here but I am assuming I'd be able to pick up an exhaust for $150-$200. With shipping I'd be looking at an additional $100 at least.

Most exhaust shops should be able to fit it for you. They may need to create a custom mount or something to fit the gti exhaust to your tsi. Many people have done it.
