Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You should be able to upgrade to MK3 uprights if I recall correctly. Might expand the options a bit.

MK2 GTI carriers are the same as the non-GTI ones here.

If you're looking for the bolt on calipers you need MK2 16V or MK3 uprights.

I think Jarred did a MK2 to MK3 carrier conversion.

Yeah thanks mate im aware of the above, reason I was looking for another set of spare spindles was so I can keep the car on the road whilst modding stuff on the side, I am fitting 5x112 wheel to it so keeping it narrow track and was looking at pressing in 5x100 vr6 hubs then adapter for the wheels. I could just go 4x100 to 5x112 adapters but they are pretty dear and im not overly keen on them. I know the Vr hubs fit in the MK2 spindles so was keen to have a spare set to do so. All of this is because I now love driving the thing and don't want to take it off the road just yet. Im gathereing up all my stuff for the 1.8T conv but was hoping to take it to Nambucca VW show with a rad set of wheels on it.
      Cheers
