Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Chasing the newer plastic end tank version (P/N: 1K0 145 803 BE/BP) to upgrade my 2.0 TSI Tiguan if anyone has one spare after upgrading theirs to aftermarket one or something. Prepared to pay up to $250 (preferably with hoses) and can arrange shipping at my expense.
    Cheers.

I think you'll find he recently sold his.... after having it on sale since last year.

Seems like after I've posted about the intercooler upgrade I've done on my Tig that there's been an increased level of interest. There's some pretty decent gains for stage 2 guys in particular that are still running the skinny 32mm intercoolers.

try ebay for a GTi intercooler. for similar money you can have a thicker all aluminium bolt-in intercooler.

            yes, I have one.

Found 1K0145803S on ebay which suits MkV/VI GTI and appears to be plastic ends (even has same connectors as Tig from the looks) but dunno if it's the thicker 38mm core?!

                            I'd reckon!
With a bit of luck being more closely related Golf R one the hose connections should be the same too?!

I think you should be right. The intercooler I got was out of a 2012 Golf R and by carefully cutting the ends off the stock Tig pipes they work fine.

Instead of an o-ring with a clip you just slip the stock hose over the intercooler connectors and all you'll need is a couple of hose clamps.
