T4 radiator fan resistor - need quickly

1 of my cooling fan resistors has packed in so I'm only running on 1 fan on the caravelle.

Does any have a spare/old one that I could buy. They live under the front bumper of the VW caravelle (9 but may live elsewhere on yours.

If not, can anyone point me out where to get one from other than the stealers.

The fan will still come on with the coolant temperature gets high enough, it will just not come on with the air con.

Not finding a second hand one for less than $80 or so and considering they just adjust the speed of the fans, I just clipped the wires and soldered them together. This means the fans are either on or off, not perfect and hopefully temporary, but normally it is a hot day when the air con is on any way so getting the engine to temp is not an issue.

The only thing I wonder is whether the extra current when the fan is in run on mode might adversely affect the battery.
