VIC WTB - Mk1 golf rear seat

Hi all.

I'm currently in the process of getting a road worthy for my newly acquired 1976 mk1 golf 2 door.

I am having quite a bit of trouble with the rear seat as it is from a later model, and has been welded to the floor. It is a PITA to get it engineered as it is right on top of the fuel tank and the underneath of the floor can not be reinforced.

I tried fitting a rear seat from my 1977 mk1 2 door, however it would appear that the top hooks/latches are a different design and in different places. The 77 seat was out of a German import golf, so I need a seat that is not the same design.

Any help or advice is strongly welcomed!!

I believe the top half is the same as a 4 door 76 its the base thats different between 2 and 4 doors.
With the base a 76 and 77 frame may be the same upholstery obviously different.
