Thanks Eddy. Any idea why the 8N part number would be that much more expensive over the 1J version? To me, just looks like the 1J version is genuine and includes new guide pins and dust boots, which won't be necessary for me...

Hoyhoy.
May be because one is original & the other ain't.
I got these -------- Caliper Bracket - VOLKSWAGEN FRONT
Along with these --------- Tyrolsport brake caliper stiffening kit
I did have problems with these carriers that might not exist with the ECS ones,,, I don't know.
The problem was in my case that even though the TT has the same mounting measurements, the base on the hub was slightly different.
I tracked with very spongy brakes because the carriers weren't sitting flush & then after a lot of hunting found this problem.
All I had to do was chamfer the outer edge radius of the carriers where they mount onto the hub, so watch for this, which ever way you go.Hooroo.

Here's some.
Two-piece rotor (Open Slot) - MK4 R32 FRONT 2004

I did have a prob. with there 312mm front two piece with heavy track use, the open slot is too close to the inner edge, but may be the 330mm for your R32 could be different, they do run very cool.
Some rears.
GOLF R32
Google & you'll find others.Hooroo.

Buggered if I know, now see some MK4 R32 front rotors being 334 x 32.

May be a typo on that two-piece rotor listing, I've known Mk4 R32 to be 334mm.
Oli, hope you're doing good mate. I'm only after the 312mm setup as I get to keep my standard caliper (and retain easier brake clearancing).
