Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Got several here mate but its going to be expensive mailing it across unless you can organise a courier.

Do you want bare head or complete ( cams, lifters etc ) most the units I have will need reconditioning before use, 1.8 or 2.0 head ?
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

HI Mate I have a Ported and bench tested head that i have been sitting on
it is reconditioned i can do it for 1200, will give you a big increase in power
over a standard head. The Builder of this head is an engineer in the UK that was making them in his workshop at home and using his scirocco 16v track car to show of his work.
This head is still fresh of the press and not been used since its build.
He was getting 180hp on 40mm webers.

below is the for sale thread with photos
im in Sydney feel free to come have a look

            Hi Roccodingo,
Thanks for letting me know, i am after a new or near new reconditioned head for a 1.8L. I will be needing just the head thanks and if so will that be including the valves?
            Cheers Finman

Having high spec cams will change driveabilty by pushing your peak power into high RPM
This has stock KR cams so drive ability won't change
You will have more power which should be a nice bonus
But, true it might be a waste to put on a daily driver

None of the 3 heads I have are near new, they all would require a degree of reconditioning ( guides, maybe valves, seat cutting and a light skim ) this would make them close if not more than Ben's 16v head TBH.
