I understand your concerns about the vehicle being 'tracked' but from the photos and list of sensible mods it looks like a very well cared for example. I would rather that than one that hasn't been 'tracked' but hasn't been cared for either...

Good luck with your search and I think it might pay to be patient...

            THIS!

I'd be more concerned with the service history!

Good luck in finding one. Most i've seen are close to or over 100,000km. And in the Blue....??

With regards to being "tracked" Mine has been tracked and have attended a skidpan day.
Also back and forth to ACT many times.
She's over 200,000km old and still kickin' with no major issues. *knocks on wood*

As long as the car has been cared for and service history recorded, this car a pretty dam reliable.

                Hey mate,

Like Corey, Tom and Guile have said I would not worry about whether the car has been tracked or not. Problems for the R32 do not arise from tracking the vehicle. Also in general guys that track their Euro car will have spent a fortune in making sure it is well cared for, well serviced, and are extremely cautious when doing so.

I bought my car, which had not been tracked and not owned by an enthusiast. It has had a bucketload more problems than cars with previous owners who tracked and loved the car. Most of the R32's problems arise from poor servicing eg. Haldex etc.

The blue R32 up on Carsales currently is the best buy I have ever seen for an R32. I was tempted to sell mine and buy that one to get into a Blue R32 haha.

Good luck with your hunt for the right car, but keep researching about signs of problems and keep an open mind on cars that have been tracked.

This car is certainly priced to sell looks in VGC! If the owner would be willing to part out and sell it in stock form at a little cheaper price i'd be really keen.

I plan to buy a Focus XR5 as a daily (cheap as 16-17 these days) but after seeing a black MKIV R32 yesterday I really would love to stay in a VW!

If I was the owner, I wouldn't waste my time parting it out. Time & cost lost to strip it down wouldn't be worth it.

                      totally agree with you..

out of interest how much would a militek and bilstein suspension be worth on the used market?

I'd prefer a well looked after car that has seen a racetrack but has been driven with mechanical sympathy than some low km inner city commuter car that has been ragged from cold every day.

                          That is paul's Blue R32.

His user name is driven threads now i think.

Paul is a really nice guy, give him a call and just have a chat to him about it.
