Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC WTB: Mk4 Bora/Jetta/Golf interior dash pieces - tan colour preferable

My Bora 4-motions interior is in terrible condition and I'm looking to replace the faded and broken bits.
My car came in the tan variant which I know is rare.
I can respray pieces if necessary but they would have to be the ones that get less wear and they can't be black as it's very hard to cover black with tan.

If you know anyone who is wrecking a tan coloured bora then please let me know as well.

Here are the pieces I need:

    Items:
    1) Lower Dash plastics - drivers side under steering wheel (but not steering wheel shroud)
    2) Glove box handle and glove box door (or at least the glove box mechanism)
    3) Centre console comparment handle.
    4) Woodgrain on drivers side door handle/power window switches\
    5) Woodgrain on passenger side door handle
    6) Drivers side door trim - this needs to be tan to match the car
    7) Drivers side mirror adjustor
Location: S/East suburbs of Melb. Willing to pay for post via e-go couriers.
Item Condition: Not broken or cracked pls.
Price range: To be discussed depending condition and postage costs.

I'll try to get a picture up soon with the specifics of what I require.

Appreciate any and every help with this hunt!

could you plastic undercoat in white, then go to tan? That way any interior bits would be fine

Thanks for that advice. Sounds like it could work. I would need a test piece first but I wouldn't want to fork out good money just to try. Easiest test piece would probably be the driver side fuse box cover.

If I found a complete dash and centre console then id be happy too get them in all in black. That way I can respray them all to match, but my fear that a few pieces repainted here and there might be a completely different shade and look completely out of place. Alternatively I could also respray my current salvageable interior bits but it might be a different shade from a resprayed black trim.

If I am interested in black pieces, where should I look? Anyone wrecking a bora with intact full interior ?
