    VIC Looking for Lock Nut Key

    Hi Guys,

    Bought a car with wheels on it, but they have lock nuts on :/ and he's lost the key.

    Does anybody have key or keys that I could try? I will rent, buy or borrow . Only need it to take them off.

    The make and type of wheels and locknuts might help as there are innumerable types of both

    If its a standard VW wheel a dealer may lend or sell you one.

      Unfortunately I don't know :/ and the seller doesn't know either.

      I'm going to take a look tonight and see if I can a brand or something from the edge of it.

        In that case got to a tyre place and ask if they have got any ease out sockets. I had the same problem and a guy had them off in 5 mins with one of them. Ruins the nuts but I guess that doesn't matter

            Sacrifice a socket - find the right size for a very tight fit over the lockbolt/nut, hammer onto the head and undo with ratchet handle.

            Repeat for the remaining 3.

            Have used this method successfully on a Patrol.

              All good . Bought a 20mm socket from Bunnings and got them off that way

              Snapped a ratchet in the process but it was a cheap one anyway!

                  Haha! Had a chat with the guy at Bunnings and told him it was to get a lock nut off my Golf... He then watched me leave the store and climb into a Mazda haha!

                  Must have looked dodgy as hell!
