hi guys,
i smashed my left hand side mirror cover off last week. and need to replace the coloured cover. VW want $60 for the part and an additional $110 for painting, where else can i get these pre painted, i think 110 is a rip off

Sounds about right Buy it off VW and take it to a car painter and see what he charges. They dont come painted as have to be matched to what may be faded paint.

MkV or MkVI? If MkV, and you come across a pair, I'll buy the RH (drivers) side cover. Mine has been cracked for ages!

Maybe a wrecker or someone parting a car?

If the wrecker has a tornado red one, the colour should match unless your car has hella sun damage. Same for taking it to a shop and getting one painted tornado red and clear coated.

Otherwise, get the cheapest OEM cover you can find and rattle can that sumbich and the RH cover black. Photoshop a picture of your car with them black.
