My Golf Mk3 passenger door lock is free-wheeling when you insert the key.
I pulled it for a look.
The car is a '95 which is supposedly the early lock, but the driver's side has the newer lock.
Either way, the barrel I want is for the larger size hook and paddle.
Early model barrels have a smaller and weaker hook which breaks easily.
Someone has "repaired" the existing barrel, I guess after the loop broke, by sawing off the hook receiving end and tapping a small zinc screw through it, so it didn't fall out. No doubt very resourceful at the time.
I have replacement a paddle and spring etc and still have the keys and springs from the original, so looking for a barrel.
Prefer local to Brisbane so I can check it fits.
