Hey guys,

My car didn't start the other day due to the key not returning to the original position after start up and in turn im pretty sure it burnt out the starter motor

i was just looking for a used or new starter motor i can do the change myself however i don't mind if it is used so long as it works would prefer local pick up i am on the southside of brissie but dont mind having to travel to pick up

I have a starter motor dude, its off an 03 beetle I think. Unsure if it works with MK4 though.

mine on offer is from a 1.6 golf, however if you can check the part number or even get a pic of the Beetle one, it might be compatible

got your pm have been away from the forum i have a part on the way, I have also been doing my research on my particular model and i have been told its a mk3 2.0 build date 09/97 but it is a 98 golf gl.

i was unsure about this when i posted this thread due to only buying the car a few weeks ago i was at the down shift meet up and i ran into some of the forum members in bris who told me about the watercooled forums i can try and load up pics of the model etc if anyone could educate me further on this would be greatly appreciated as have only dealt in jap cars in the past cheers
