Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD WTB MK1 Fuel Tank Sender

    Hi All,

Looking for a MK1 fuel tank sender for a carb 1.6 ltr 1977 sedan. This is the sender unit that incorporates the feed and return lines. Obviously needs to be working and in a clean condition.

    Cheers
    Craig

No, the complete sender unit inside the tank that is accessed from the top of the tank under the rear seat.

77 tanks must be different to a 76 then, as we don't have an inspection port on the top.

            Thanks Keith,

Are you going to the Gold Coast show next Sunday May 6th? If not, I can arrange a time to come and pick it up.

Yes, I've come across at least three different tanks from '76 to '79, all with slight differences. I'd post a schematic of my tank, but I still don't seem to have image attachment functions yet....

            Cheers
            Craig

At this stage I don't think I will be able to make the show but will let you know if that changes.

77 has the inspection hole in the top, Mike.

You can still buy them new I think..
