Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA Mk1 5speed linkage parts

Hi all looking for the 5 speed version of the following part

also if there are any other parts I may have to change along with this please let me know.
I have the larger 5 speed ball, and a set of 5 speed linkages.
I am unsure whether the long metal rod in the linkage is any different on a five speed than a four speed?

    Thanks,
    Dan

if all else fails, just extend that piece by 25mm,

as for the gear stick, rod from that to that piece pictured above is the same, you just need to extend that piece, and get the rod that goes from that piece to box...

Just modify 4 speed parts and replace the bushes and you will have a very nice shift
