Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC WTB: Golf Mk3 CL Distributor

    G'day,

It looks like the hall sensor in my distributor has stopped working. If anyone has a good second hand distributor for a Mk3 Golf CL they want to part with, can you please let me know. The original part number is 0237 520 036, and I'm not sure, but the 2.0 litre may be the same.

    Cheers, Rob.

2.0 is different but you could probably salvage the sensor from it.

Any idea how to get the hall sensor out, Peter? It is held in by 2 screws, but to get to the screws you have to remove the rotating disk under the rotor with the vertical flaps on it that passes through the sensor, but I cannot see how to remove the disk?
