Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Wanted to buy: Mk3 golf <$5k

    Hey all,

A good mate of mine is trying to suss out his first car.

Naturally i'm pushing for him to get a dub and he's warming to the idea quite rapidly.

With this said, his limitations are a $5K budget (absolute max) and he's wanting a manual with less than 180,000 clicks.

I know there are a fair few floating about on carsales etc. but i'd feel more comfortable with him buying from someone on VWW.

Let me know if you're wanting to sell one yourself, or know of any quality examples that fit the bill.

    Ta,

    Ryan

MkIII, $5k with up to 180,000 - you'd almost get into a VR6 for that!

Put him behind the wheel of a VR6 and he'll be a VW convert for life.

My Passat VR6 is 3/4 Mk 3 golf, but is a little different. It's manual, odo reading 142k km, lowered on Eibach / Bilsteins, 17"s etc. Not a golf sure, but is more car for the money and a bit different. (It's in the 4-sales if he's interested)

              hey Ryan

one of my best mates has a grey vr6 that he is trying to part with atm that would be worth having a look at and if its going to a good home im sure he will part with it for this price its not registered atm but he would register it as part of the cost. it has 175km on it and it runs really well. the only things wrong im aware of is a flat battery which will probs need replacing as it doesnt hold charge and he has a differnt shade of grey front quarter panel and bonnet that have been replaced.in general it just needs a little bit of love in a couple of areas nothing serious. also has full black leather interior in really awesome condition for age and a fairly good set of coilovers not sure exactly what they are tho.

anyways if your friend is interested at all send me an inbox and ill be able get you onto my mate (jake) who will be able to tell you everything about it in detail as he knows alot more about it then me and i can get him to take a heap of photos of it in detail to give you an idea ...

good luck finding the best vdub you can get for your mate im sure he is gunna love it!!!
