  • NSW 12 point axle nut for MK4

VW dealer is out, waiting for stock from Germany and these apparently should be changed if you take them off. As I am in the middle of doing my CV boot atm, I need one.

If you have one or two or know where I can get one, please let me know.

surely the dealer can get these from another dealership - there can't be none in the country...

oh yeah, i reused mine - they torque up to 200Nm+ , dont think they will be coming off

If you cant get one i suggest using small amount of loctite and retorque the old one to spec as stan has mentioned. I dont think you will have an issue there not exactly like cyl head bolts which will stretch and need replacement. Check the thread if it looks ok re use thats my opinion....

I can't recall if these are the nyloc version, or the one that you stake into the groove in the driveshaft.

Either way, it should be ok to use, providing the nyloc is still giving resistance on the thread, or the staked area isn't badly butchered.

I've re-used them on a few occasions, and not had any problems.

Thanks guys, the nut looks in great condition so I'll just reuse it.

            Thanks!
