Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Wanted: Mk3 VR6 Suspension

    Hey guys,

I am after some cheap suspension, shocks and springs set up would be good, coilovers even better.
I got standard factory stuff at the moment and it is tired and worn out.
So let me know what you have that I could buy for a good price..

I am in Sydney, Northern beaches.
    Thanks. Jono

You can get JOM coilovers pretty cheap, cost about $350-400 landed from veedubmachine in the UK. You can also buy other suspension gear like strut mounts, ball joints etc really cheap.

    Cheers

thanks man, I have looked at the JOM gear, I was also looking at the FK gear too, both well priced. I am still unsure though as to whether the price reflects quality, resulting in a terrible ride/quality issues.

You get what you pay for. A $400 suspension kit would be absolute rubbish sorry.

my advice is, if your young, broke, dont give a toss about ride quality and just wanna get lo then do it.....
but if your gonna own this car for a while and you actually enjoy driving a well sorted car, save up for a decent set.
do it once and do it right
