  • SA WTB MK1 engine mounts

Hi all, my dad has come to visit me and we decided to get into gear and get the engine back in the car!

sure enough i still havent ordered any new mounts for the car

so im desperately after some oem mounts, the left engine, front engine, right transmission and rear engine so 4

if worse comes to worse any one with a left engine mount only thats sweet as that one is f***** and is a priority

    will pay for express posting

    thankyou

Downside to that is most Petrol (if not all i think) came with the smaller Engine bushing.
AFAIK only the GTi 1.8L, I think the Cabby's and most Diesel came with the bigger mount.

Unless your kit includes the small one for engine?

        Either way thats cheap,

My appologies youre right GRN_VAGN. Some models do have the bigger 75mm mount. A lot have been retrofitted with the bracket to suit it though so its always best to check I guess!

Meatloaf always said "3 out of 4 aint bad" right?

from experience, make sure you try and source factory quality ones which have much stiffer rubber. A lot of the aftermarket OEM mounts, even from places such as Tooleys are as soft as cheese. just a heads up...

also super pro stock the front cone shape mount in poly for about $15 and can express post over night...

This is true, just thought id heads up people as i had same problem, Ended up buying a New GTI mount and heavy duty rubber from Camden GTI..... then realised later i could have cut one of the 3 diesel mounts i had

And yes dubmc, i have heard some are rather soft, heard of people having to replace the engine one within 3 months

Take my advice and ONLY fit OEM mounts, mate. Tim's deal is a good one. I'd jump at that. The 75mm ones are readily available too...
