  • NSW OEM MK5 R32 Brake Kit

hi, anyone have a set of MK5 R32 brake kit including rotors and pads and calipers. Pm or call 0403858259

i think the R32 brakes are a total overkill for your TDI.

in term of look, slotted rotors and paint your calipers in red, would be better.

why are the r32 brakes an overkill for my tdi and what slotted rotors do you recommend and who do you recommend to paint the calipers in red.

Are you after looks or performance?

Why not just upgrade your rears to GTI spec and get some new rotors.

where is the best place to source mk5 gti calipers and pads and where to get some new rotors besides the dealers. im after both jazd, and won't it look funny just rears only.

What car are these for? If its a GT TDI then it already has the same front brakes as a GTI. Otherwise yes do all 4. It may be almost the same price to get 4 new R32 calipers & rotors as it would to get 4 new GTI calipers and rotors.

I think ECS tuning sells full R32 upgrade kits.

Strong brakes don't necessarilly mean bigger brakes. Often you only need a change of pad material & good brake fluid.

I'd assume you have the same 288mm disc rotors as my Octavia? If so, you should be able to buy GTI carriers & 312mm GTI discs & use your existing front calipers & pads. The extra diameter gives the brakes a bit more leverage & the extra mass of the discs gives more thermal capacity. IIRC, the carriers are about $100 each plus whatever you decide on for the discs.

That's how it works on a Skoda.

try Julian Edgars Roomster brake upgrade on this forum

                    or 312mm Brake upgrade.

have a browse through BriSkoda - there are some threads there too.

Also try "312mm brake upgrade" in google images

edit: haven't done any brake upgrades to mine despite having an ECU remap. I don't do any track work & despite the power increase, I don't brake the speed limit anymore than before so don't think I need better brakes (ie: it takes just as much brakes to decelerate from 110 to zero whether it took me 6secs or 10 secs to get to 100kph)

                          It's a wanted thread.

I agree with earlier comments that there is little, to no need to upgrade the brakes to R32 levels. There's the question of will the wheels fit over the new calipers too. Far more economical to fit some better pads with the standard sized discs.
