Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey guys, im chasing some coilovers.
I guess i dont mind if its used, as long as its in good condition as i hear cheap coilies break quickly?

Anyway im after something cheap-ish not willing to spend 650 for brand new ones. Let me know what you guys have and your prices and im sure we can work something out. Or if anyone can point me in a Aus dealer or something so that i dont have to go through ebay etc.

    Cheers George

              Hi there.

I just fitted the above kit in my golf. Seems to be a good kit. Postage was quick and a pain free ebay transaction.

Good luck what ever you decide.

              Cheers

Support your local dealers (Slammed Distribution) and buy from them, George.

James and Robin are good guys and I'm not sure about them, but if you bought a product from outside that I am the distributor for and then wanted me to help if something was wrong.. I'd be less enthusiastic to help you out.

Slammed are doing good deals and they are good people. Deal local, it will work out better for you in the end...

Nothing against Slammed Distribution but $800 v $300, that's a massive difference, don't you think? Even if something does go wrong you could almost get 3 sets of coilovers for the price of 1...

Agreed, i cant justify $800 on whats a $500 car, and i barely drive it.
I still try to buy parts local, alot of stuff i get is through Matt at Camden GTi....

Sorry preeny i'd have to agree with the above. I already purchased the hottuning ones above lastnight. I mean please dont get me wrong im sure they're nice guys and all, but im not strapped for cash dude. If i had cash, i'd love to help everyone out, but im year 12 with hardly any income.

So yeah, i think i make it clear why i'd rather go for the $400 coilovers
Thanks anyway guys, also thanks for pointing out that link to me

Then you have to get them delivered...

There's a reason these things are more expensive. Slammed have to pay import duty and GST, so bam, there's 15% on top straight away. They aren't trying to rip you off...

At the end of the day it is your decision... But i'd be dealing local if I was you.
