Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC WTB Classic Wooden Steering Wheel

    Guys,

WTB a classic, wooden steering wheel to fit my new ride, a C123 1985 'Benz coupe...I'm not after any of those w*gy, Autobarn-jobbies, rather something that will suit a chrome-bumpered classic, similar to a Nardi et al....

Let me know what you might have stored in the shed.....

Brand new Nardi out of the question?
    Link.

The one thing that really turns me off mid 70's to late 90's Mercedes is the steering wheels.
What are you thinking in the way of a boss? Not sure what the biggest size Nardi's come in, but I'd be aiming for the biggest.

Thanks Jace...yeah the rubber look has never done much for me and I'm almost tempted to retro-fit a black W108 'wheel..
I've found a s/h Nardi last night, and am just awaiting an answer on the boss. New Nardis are a tad 'exe' for my liking

Actually Mark, there's a guy down here (in Drysdale) who's got a bunch of W108/9 stuff. He used to restore them apparently. I reckon he'd sell you a steering wheel, last time I spoke to him he made out that he had 'too many' parts lying around.
I'll PM you his details if you like?
