Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TAS Mk1 parts, get my engine swap done :P

    Need the following,

Not a great deal of rush, but will be needing these over next month or so.

Top radiator hose for a 1.8L, heard the GLD is the right one?

Hose from side of head above gear box, it goes into bottom hose for Heater core. Looks like a Hockey stick

Need the rubber boot that covers the bottom of gear stick and connecting rod, also the 2 rubber boot bits at other end of connect rod. can get pics to show what i mean.

Electronic Distributer. One to suit a 1.8L

    Stock airfilter box and filter.

Drivers side engine mount and bracket. hopefully one thats usable.

Will add more when i think of them!

Yep, GLD is the right one.

Andrew Robinson is local(ish) to you and will be able to source those hoses they're all available new at quite reasonable prices.

The boots are still available overseas, locally might be a bit of a challenge.

yeah those rubber boots are quite hard to come by in Aus...did quite a bit of ringing around and no one had them...i used some loctite/super glue to repair the ones i had the best i could...some are better than none i suppose.

              Bump,

Still after that rubber boot bit under gear selector rod.

And top GLD hose, and the one on the side of head. If not might do a GAP order, anyone doing a order soon?

Also need a Working Electronic Distributer with vacuum advance.
