Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cut the springs if you really want to be that tight.
Spend ~$500, and you'll have a set on your doorstep via ebay.

PS: don't cut the springs lol.

              yeh, + killer shipping.

they will be Hot tuning, or JOM or Raceland (all same brand) Not a bad way to go if you want lowz. If you want Hot Tuning's PM Lorenz or evorobin and they'll hook you up

what Valver is sellling is a quality set up. Koni's make a dam fine shock absorber

like I said, shipping is included in Hot Tuning coilovers if you buy them from Lorenz or Robin.

                  PM them

Mmm, thought I remembered seeing JOM's for $500 shipped internationally on ebay. Can't find them now though.
I think it's $700 inc. shipping for Hottunings. Great deal I think. About the cheapest and most reasonable option.

I work in motorport for a living and can tell you that cheap sh#t chinese Coilovers are somewhat different to proper, dutch made Konis, which appear on some of the finest cars in the world!! If you want coilovers, get some proper ones (KW, H&R, Koni, Spax, Weitec, Hot Bits, Gaz) Otherwise, you might aswell run Monroes with cut springs (actually, they'd be better, safer and potentially Standards approvable!).

You can have my Konis and springs for $350, if you must, just to save another set of **** shocks meeting our roads and putting us all in danger

Sounds blunt, but it's true. I've had enough of muppets with these things rocking up through the doorway with countless issues. I just fail all of them and sell them KWs!

If I didn't already have some I would definately buy those Konis.

I'm not huge fan of hottunnings or anything, but you honestly think that a chopped spring is safer? (let alone better and approvable?!)
