Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      pm this guy Golf loon

a useful upgrade which is cheap and available - use a Seat wiper motor ( ibiza, cordoba toledo etc ), which is newer, fits, and available.

he should also have some arms to suit

Cheers Guys, waiting on JD to get back to me...

I will give Loon a try.

The motor is not whats the problem though, it has a single wiper with motor and single arm, but need to make it dual.
Basically the "mechanics ie. that the motor connects to under the hood" is buggered as a result and can no longer accept duals.
So I need the new mechanics and frame, if I get another motor too would be kool though.

Okay so, I ended up picking up a set from Gaz at CVWC, from a 1990 Mk2... turns out the hole spacing varies from the 83-85' range to the 86-91' range.

The car being in the earlier (85'), means that the wipers wouldn't fit
So still stuck in mud, if you do have the ones from a 83-85 Mk2 then I would be very very interested Spyda.

              Cheers,
              Aaron.

As it so happens the car is a 85, did you want me to measure the distance between the holes? If so, which holes exactly?

                  Nice!

I need distance between both holes... and the most important distance between bracket mount (near motor) and inner wiper hole (closest to middle of car)...

I would recommend measuring the latter on a diagonal (ie. directly hole to hole).

                  Cheers,
