Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Best supplier of CV's/Driveshaft in Melbourne ??

That growling noise that Jared picked-up on my Cabby, whilst it was on the dyno. a few weeks back has just re-appeared big-time....driver's CV is groaning..

Where's the best place to get reco. or changeover CV's these days???

    Thanks in advance

Loon should be able to mail order you one. Someone did mention a place in VIC that you could get them brand new, I've forgotten who, but i *think* it was a CV mob. you'd have to search through the mk 1 section to find them.

Shouldn't be too hard to find second hand though

Turns out it was neither bearing or CV....the f*ckers @ Beaurepaires (Sat. am) didn't do up the Front-left wheel properly...to which I had put a good 70+ klms on (1/2 with the kids in tow)...luckily I was changing all 4 wheels and didn't start removing the RH CV first !!!........
