  • VIC WTB: MK1 Brake Disc Retaining Screw

Found today that this screw is missing:

    Would appreciate a replacement.
Seems insignificant if there's a wheel bolted up, but I'd like to have one there anyway.

    Thanks.

It wont matter if it's missing, it's just to hold the disc in place whilst the wheels is off. Not saying you shouldn't get one, but I wouldn't worry if you never found one (if that makes sense)

Yeah, pretty much what Jarred said. The wheels bolts put it in place once the wheel is on.

They're about 2 cents at any bolt place.

Take the one out of the other side to a bolt store and they'll sort you out.

You're way overcomplicating it guys. It's just a M6 countersunk bolt - nothing exotic about it.

Any bolt place will sell 'em by the kilo.

Yeah I thought it wasn't important.
But the car's on jack stands and has been for a week or so without wheels, so I was just cleaning the surface rust off the brake discs before I chuck the wheels back on, and was wondering what the clunking noise was, as I didn't put the wheels nuts in tight enough to hold it solidly.
Thanks for the hot-tip guys. I assumed what you've told me, but I want my car to be 100% complete all the time.

                  Here Here!!!!!

Just cause its a M6x15-16mm screw off a VW doesn't mean its fancy & has to be brought from the States or the UK!
