  • NSW 20-30mm spacers 5x100

    Hey guys,

I'm after some spacers for my car, looking at getting spacers in the range from 20-30mm. Or if you know where to get them fairly cheap could you also direct me in the right direction?

    cheers!

just in case you arent aware, but spacers may be illegal in your state (I think so for NSW), if you're planning to use them on your street car, then you run the risk of it being defected, and/or voiding your car insurance.

oh Steve, youre such a webel

but thanks to the GFC, insurance companies are clamping down and using any reason not to pay up on a claim.

Imagine you prang into someone's lamborghini, and get hit with a $50k repair bill, plus a $200k third party injury claim.

when youre sitting in your council flat (english expression), you'll have plenty more time for yawning then!! LOL.

I make sure all the mods on my car are individually listed on my insurance policy to make sure they dont try and wrangle their way out if I need to make a claim

Thats why you pay full insurance when you hit someone. They are not going to say you have spacers, which means cuse you got hit its your fault.

if its a small claim, no problems, but if its a bigger claim, the insurance company will employ a crash scene investigator to investigate the cause of the accident, and during the course of those investigating, if they happen to identify that your vehicle isnt "roadworthy", then your insurance company will use this to deny a claim, whether you have full insurance or not.

even if the wheel spacers werent the cause of the accident, their legal argument is that the car is not roadworthy, and should not have been driven. they provide an insurance policy to you, on the basis of "full disclosure" and if you havent declared the mods to them, they will use that to get out of paying on the claim

For what its worth in QLD

The fitting of spacers or adaptors between wheels and
hubs, additional to those provided by the vehicle
                manufacturer, is not permitted.
