  • VIC Replacement mk4 center console trims

hey guys, the trim on my center console, ie. drink holder cover ash tray cover and such are looking pretty ****ty, wouldnt mind replacing them.

id like the r32 brushed metal trim if i can get it but any new/newish looking trim is fine.

Do you have a climate control unit with a screen or with dials?

hey, try what I did with mine....spray the lot with alloy-wheel silver, it gets rid of that fake-woodgrain look and is much cheaper than R32 stuff (it's very easy to remove these parts from the dash !!)

dylan i have the stock AC with the dials not climatronic.

mark the problem i am having with mine currently is the original finish is peeling and wearing, i can take it all off and scratch it off with my finger to get it all back to a single finish which i feel looks better than the original but that would be a little tedious. have you got any suggestions for something to remove this first and then spray the lot?

          This bit ?

There is a DIY on the Tex where the bloke rubs off all the 'soft touch' black stuff with a scourer.
          Or buy new from ECS

nah not those parts mate, the surrounds of the ac, stereo, cup holder in the dash and the ash tray cover. these are the kits available on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Go...Q5fAccessories

im basically looking to clean up or replace all those parts

If it's just the centre console(with the silly finish that just scratches off) rather than the dash centre, I think from memory I used Metho. or Turps. and took it back to the finish underneath...
