  • NSW WTB: Plastic Air Induction assembly for 2001 Polo 1.4 Litre (16-Valve) engine

Looking for a private seller or VW car wrecker (in Sydney) that has the air inlet plastic induction assembly - including the moulded plastic pipe connection to the exhaust heat exchanger - for a 2001 VW Polo A03 1.4 Litre 16-Valve engine.

My problem is that the plastic pipe connection to the exhaust heat exchanger has snapped off at the connection point to the main induction assembly. All attempts at band-aid fixes like super glueing the two pieces back together have failed.

The cost of an OEM VW spare part is prohibitive - and ideally I am looking for this part from either a modified 2001 Polo or a from a wrecked car.

Any advice or assistance from Forum members to obtain this replacement part would be appreciated.

Thanks for your response. However, as I am located in Sydney and the car is currently with a family member in Canberra I may not be able to provide the requested picture for a week or two.

I can tell you that it has a July 2001 Build Date and an October 2001 Australian Compliance Plate. It is the first Polo model to have the 1.4 Litre / 16-Valve engine fitted and designated as an A03.

I have attached the link from the Red Book that confirms the model details:

A picture speaks a thousand words mate.

Polos carry over parts from random models, thats why I want to be sure. Golfs are easier, as they are all the same, Polos change stuff a lot more often seemingly for the sake of it.
