I got it installed for me but as long as you have a gear puller and the know how you'll be good. Given your job and the access you have to elsawin/etka you'll be fine.
          Cheers,
          Trent
Edit: I have aligned my shifter cables twice myself though and if I had the gear puller it would've been easy as to do it. Also go the full 40% throw reduction. It may feel funny at first but after a while you'll wonder why VW didn't fit it that short to start with. I'd also highly recommend one of these: http://www.42draftdesigns.com/instal...guide.html#mk4 while you're pulling the shifter out. Just adds to the improved feel in the gearbox.

i got both of them from HPA (side to side and back to front) and i love it. Its not too hard to install, as long as you adjust the cables properly, as Trent said

ive got the dieselgeek in my S3.

Click here for Install Instructions In pursuit of perfection:  There is nothing as important to the feel of your car as what you actually touch. This includes the seats, the steering wheel, and of course, the shifter. Many people have mentioned that installing a Dieselgeek Sigma Shifter should be the first mod added

Nik, we should compare sometime, be interesting to feel the difference between HPA and Dieselgeek
