  • VIC Kjet Fuel Pump, Accumulator & Filter Brackets

    Hey all,
Running a Mk2 Kjet setup in my Mk1 (have diesel fuel tank fitted etc.) and currently have custom (aka crappola) brackets.
Does anyone have brackets to hold the:
    -K-jet pump

-Accumulator (I've got this strapped to the pump, anyone know where its supposed to go?)

    -Fuel Filter
I can fab one of these, but hear there is a original one that bolts to the metering head, looks like this i think.. LINK

Go to a self serve wreckers and nab those bits of an old Volvo. They're under the back somewhere.

Got all the brackets, and new rubber mounts , and foam pump sock, from my experience your better getting a new pump from a volvo 240 ( same bosch number as VW) last one cost me about $170 from ASV as opposed to an unknown from the wreckers ( been there , done that )

The fuel filter bracket in the link is not the accumalator bracket, you need one of these also ??

Little hint, Kjet is very fussy with dirt and water in the system, you must assemble it in a clinical sense. You will want the tank to be spotless inside also.

The fuel pump sits at the right hand end of the fuel tank, you should see a threaded stud (8mm) just in front of the rear axle pivot, and a small tab sticking out from where the floor panel meets the rear seat base ( along the weld seam underneath the car) 6mm threaded hole

The accumalator lives at the right hand end and adjacent to the spare wheel tub, there should be 2 8mm threaded studs sticking down from the underbody boxed sections.

There is also a mount at the rear end of the battery tray and along the bumper mounting tube to hold the metering head / airbox.

Let me know if you want piccies

I see yours is a 76, there wont be any studs on the shell.
          Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

          Cheers,
          Grant...

I've got one of those sitting around somewhere, looks to big to fit though
Thanks for the quick thinking though Pete!

Sorry my post is a little ambiguous, don't need a new pump just the brackets etc..

At this stage I want brackets for all of it (pump, accumulator and filter)! It's all zip ties and prayers at the moment!

Pics would be great, especially of the mountings next to the fuel tank.

(My metering head mount sounds different though. Mines mounted on the drivers side where the mk1 airbox used to be...)

I assume it doesn't matter where the accumulator is mounted, as long as its between the pump and metering head (to maintain the pressure etc)? Its mounted down near the pump at the moment, maybe I'll move it up into the engine bay...

At work at the moment, I think its 80mm from memory..

Found this fuel filter bracket on vortex, a pretty clever and simple bracket.. (its about 3/4 of the way down the page.. funny thread this one!)

Yeah, thats Andy'P's fuel bracket when he did the MS install, made by Andy O ( mate from UK ) while over a few trips ago.

That filter there using is from a digifant which uses a lower fuel pressure btw...

going to collect bits n pics now...

Accumalator position on body, sits at an angle to the car, kinda parallel with the rear trailing arm position.

top of accumalator and mount showing hose connections

                      Parts your after.

Nuts, washers, bolts and rubber mounts have been re-plated.

                      PM me for price.
