  • WTB: Mk4 lock nut key.

    Hey guys and girls,

I am in need of a new or used lock-bolt key (10pt key on my count) for my mk4. Long story short, I put the wheel back on and went for a drive and I forgot to take the key off the wheel bolt and after I got home I realised what I did.

Here is what the rims look like. The car is an '04 Sport.

This is a shot for reference between the lock bolt to the normal bolt.

    Close-up of the lock-bolt.

I don't know what these would go for usually, I only just lost it this evening so I haven't chased it up from a stealership. I don't imagine it'd be too expensive though ???

If anyone has one new or used (as long as it's the right one) please PM me or post in this thread.

I would think it could just be posted in a large envelope, someone else might know if this is the case.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Matt

Thanks for the quick reply Andrew.

Darn, I thought there might be lots of different types...So it doesn't matter if I find another 10 pt one, it won't/mightn't fit anyway??

Is there anyway to know for sure, or will I need to visit the stealership?

Afraid its a dealer job mate, not sure but I think there are about a dozen different ones (at least..)
You might fluke it and get a correct one. I have flucked em occasionally and I only have 2 samples.
        Good luck mate

          Thanks Andrew,

Tomorrow morning I'll walk the streets I drove on and see if I can find it; if not then dealer it is.
