mk2 golf hazard light switch

I'm after a hazard light switch/button for my mk2 golf gti. Currently only the light is there, not even sure if it works.

There are different kinds, one has a button above the stalks behind the steering wheel, the other kind is a switch on the dash.

Does anyone know if the hazard switch from a 1995 Cordoba will fit in to place?

Also, are working hazard lights needed for me to do my driving test in this car?
