Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD 02j mount bracket

Time to start the project again - mk2 1.8t.

I think I need the mounting bracket from a 02j
I have a 02R, mk2 subframe, and mount the only thing I don’t have is the transmission bracket

      5 speed from a n9 polo gti
It’s the 02R. Based on what I’ve read the bracket should direct fit. No modifications required

Do you have the part numbers?

              I’m doing a 1.8t mk2
Keeping the original front and rear engine brackets. I just need the one for the gear box (02j) which I believe is the same housing as 02j.

All else fails I’ll make another but out of 5mm. Would prefer a OEM bracket though
