Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    VIC Mercedes-Benz 230 W123 1979 in pretty mint condition

    This is my dads car.
    We would have loved to keep it but just cant find the time, money or space anymore.

    Air bags and a 355 V8 conversion was my idea.

    Would like to see it go to a good home.

          My old mans '85 W126 is getting up into the 500,000kms (odo stopped at 399,000 about 6 years ago), yours should juuuust about be run in at 250,000kms.

            Lol i guess, im so surprised at how solid it still is. Its just a shame its so bloody slow

                  No no, you don't need it to be fast. When people pass you in it you just 'hummpfff, philistines,' and go back to enjoying looking over the merc badge. Ours has been fairly reliable overall too, you just have to stay on top of the little things so they don't add up and it's all sweet.
