NSW Go Kart KT100J very quick recently serviced

Selling one of our Karts that we just don't get to use. Frame is in VERY good condition. Motor recently serviced by one of NSW's best karting shops incl carbie kit and professional tune. Sounds amazing. Very little time on the engine at all. Frame recently cleaned and looks as new. Brakes have new master cylinder and boot, heaps of meat on pads and rotor.
Bargain at $1,400 considering its effectively brand new and ready to race. Keen to sell as running low on storage space.

its roughly $200 per year for an aka licence, plus whatever club membership is. club meetings cost roughly $50 per meeting. you will also need a personal transponder to race, around $350 now, plus whatever you need to race, i.e. race suit etc.
great price for the kart, only just sold mine today. if you have the money to race karts, go for it, its the best thing!

This is a Junior kart - so called because it is the junior "power" of the KT100 engine - a Yamaha 100cc engine. I run the KT100S, which as you might guess is the "senior" of the KT100. The J pulls about 11hp whilst the S pulls about 14-16hp. The difference felt can be dependant on the track and the driver.

There are people running Junior Heavy class with massive smiles on their dials.

As for actually driving the things, there is a difference between running and racing. I run mine, in that i don't have a AKA license (as my local track is outside the AKA and just ha their own license fees to cover insurance etc) and i therefore don't race other people. I use my kart (and a mate who always comes down with me with his kart) to have massive amounts of cheap fun and blow off steam. I do all my drifting and skids and fast driving and race lines and all that street racer jazz on the karting track and all i get for my troubles is sore forearms from steering all day its a massive win-win and so cheap that every motor fan needs a kart imho.

As for costs, the Kart is the biggest one. Then you need a race suit and gloves ($150 usually on ebay) and a helmet ($250 approx for a good one) and i just use joggers but some peeps go with the pro race boots. My mate has them and loves them to be honest. A track visit will cost $40-$50 per day for the track fees plus about $20 in fuel (I use PULP 9. You'll use about $5 worth of the kart oil that you mix with the fuel. New rubber is $240 a set, but one-race-old sets will go for $20-$60 a set and be absolutely fine for many days of running.

A carby kit is about $30 and needed once every 20 hours or so afaik. a good tune will be $60 after that and have you running super sweet. Plugs are about $26 from memory.

Its all fairly cheap given the thrills, and I have mates who are fairly well off and run suped up Skylines and WRX and Evo and Commodores etc and they always come back to agree that bang-for-buck fun is karting hands down!!
