I've decided to sell my 1982 Ibanez Artist solid body guitar. For a 29 year old guitar it's in amazing condition, there's some very light buckle rash on the back, but it hasn't gone throught the finish. I've had a couple of repairs made to the finish, if you didn't know where they are you'd be really hard-pressed to find them. One of the tail-piece adjusting screws has half the slot sheared off (I didn't do that, it was done by a previous owner) but it doesn't affect the playability at all. The gold hardware has worn off in a couple of places on the pickups, but that's fairly normal as you probably are aware.
As you can see it has the burl mahogany top with antique violin finish, I don't know how many of these there are in Australia, not too many I shouldn't think. It has the brass sustain block under the bridge, the 1982 models were the last to have this prior to the modern Artist re-issues. It comes with an original Ibanez rectangular hard case.
I know the desirability of these early Ibanez guitars, a couple of years ago one sold in Melbourne for $2450, I'm not that greedy, serious offers around $1750 will be considered, so if you're interested PM me. I've fitted gold Schaller strap locks to the guitar, but the originals are in the case.
