Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Superchips Bluefin Multivan/Transp T5.2 2010-2015

I have a Superchips Bluefin to suit VAG turbo vehicles with encryption which was used on a Multivan/Transp T5.2 2010-2015 with the 2.0 TDI bi-turbo motor in it.

How Superchips works is that you have the hand controller and the re-map. Once the hand controller is claimed by the ECU it is tied to the vehicle. However you can remove the controller being claimed by paying Superchips for that which costs $449 AUD.

Here is how Superchips describe it - "To reset it is easy & can be done on line and the reset includes a new file. Remember you are paying for the file to upgrade your car, not the Bluefin itself, which is just a method used to install the file. Look on the Bluefin as a bottle of wine. The wine is what you buy and pay for, the bottle merely a vessel to put it in. Same with the Bluefin. The map is the wine, the Bluefin the bottle as it's a handheld device that merely installs the map into the car. No more. It is a simplified laptop that locks to your car and ECU and enables you to read the map on your car now and install our modified map."

This controller and ECU map cost me $1199 so I am happy to let the controller go for $300, then you can reset it with Superchips for $449 and you're out the door for $749 - $450 saving!

In terms of performance upgrade, this is fantastic bang for buck. The drivability is improved as the lag is reduced significantly - especially on the open road where I also had fuel economy gains. Selling as the car has been traded.

Collect Sydney, or postage at buyer expense.

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

I believe that they still remain slightly more popular than people that troll the for sale forums.
