Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi Pat, sorry commented on the other thread. The left and right muffler numbers dont correspond to the R36 (there are different numbers for that). The above numbers are specific to the CC. Let us know what this means for the R36

        Thank you for your enquiry.
We confirm that the correct SS R&L rear mufflers for the Passat CC 3.6 are the item #849105 + # 849135.
Over here in Europe, the Passat 3.6i is officially labeled as a R36 on the sedan and wagon model only.
The CC is not available as a R36 version, it is labelled a a regular Passat 4 motion 3.6i.
The CC R36 may be available in other Countries, we do not know.
However, the car is the same, regardless of its official name; the engine + drivetrain are exactly the same, on all models, therefore the exhaust is exactly the same.
Since the CC rear bumper mandates for shorter end tips, the rear mufflers are the only difference from the sedan + wagon.

        Best Regards

Hi. Does this mean that the tips will sit tucked too far into the bumper? And if so. Any idea by how much?
